Phoenix Rising Academy has taken full advantage of  cutting-edge technology to spread the ancient and timeless idea inspired by the Platonic Academy. Our online courses are available to everyone, anywhere in the world, and our faculty is spread around Greece, England, America, and France. We offer  inspiring and flexible opportunities to become part of the Academy and to participate in our mission to bring forgotten knowledge and timeless wisdom into the 21st century.

We are always open to new collaborations with scholars and academics with relevant areas of expertise, and offer a flexible, friendly, and fair working relationship, whereby potential faculty members may propose as many or as few courses as their existing commitments allow.

We also welcome proposals for one-off workshops or seminars that can be arranged as part of our scheduled events or on a standalone basis.

Language is not a barrier as we  cater to an international audience, although a working knowledge of English (or Modern Greek, or French) is necessary to facilitate initial communication.

Who should apply

Please note that at Phoenix Rising Academy,  academic and/or scholarly excellence is our main criterion for proposal evaluation. Our other criteria include teaching experience, publications, and familiarity with technology if you are proposing an online course. Please do not apply if you do not already hold at least a Master’s degree in your proposed area of expertise, or if you do not have teaching or writing  experience in your academic field.

Please be aware that we will not respond to proposals or candidates who do not fulfil the above criteria.

Before you apply

Before proposing a course or seminar for our consideration, please familiarise yourself with our existing curriculum, to avoid any overlap. If you feel your proposed course/seminar would complement our existing courses, then please describe how you envision its integration. Equally, please be as detailed as possible regarding the course content and timeline. Please view our existing courses to familiarise yourself with our format and philosophy.
